When 27-year-old Iranian actress and director Sadaf Taherian began posting her photos on social media little did she know she will have to flee her home. Sadaf Taherain began posting beautiful photos of herself from different photo shoots. what made these photos controversial was the fact that the young model was seen posing for the photos without her Hijab, the traditional Muslim head cover.
Post this she was received threats and attacks on social media, she was banned from acting, was branded as immoral and was forced to flee home. Her photos were all over Facebook and Instagram without the headscarf which was enough to ignite the controversy. Sadaf was not just upset but was shocked and disappointed y the backlash online. Little did she know that these photos will turn the leaders from her own country to condemn and attack her for the photos and eventually force her to flee her home.
When she received threats, she no longer considered it safe back home in Iran. Post the incident she fled to the United Aram Emirates. She was taken aback by the whole issue and was shocked at the fact that people from her own culture responded this way. Although she feels sorry for their reaction, the model still keeps posting photos online without her Hijab on social media.
