SEE IT: Muslim woman kicked out of Donald Trump rally for staging silent protest

A Muslim woman was escorted from a Donald Trump election campaign rally after staging a silent protest.

Rose Hamid was wearing a hijab when she stood up in opposition to the Republican front-runner's controversial comments that Syrian refugees fleeing war were connected to Islamic State terrorists.

The mood at the center in Rock Hill, South Carolina, quickly turned nasty as the crowd booed Hamid, 56, and told her to get out as security removed her from the building.

"You have a bomb," one woman shouted at her, claimed flight attendant Hamid in an interview with CNN[1].

"The ugliness really came out fast and that's really scary," she added.

And as Hamid was being removed, Trump said: "There is hatred against us that is unbelievable. It is their hatred, it's not our hatred."

But Hamid said some supporters apologized for the crowd's reaction as she was forced to leave the venue Friday night.

"The people around me who I had an opportunity to talk with were very sweet," she said.

"The people I did not make contact with, the people who Trump influenced were really nasty."

Hamid said she believes Trump's inflammatory comments are responsible for stirring up anti-Muslim sentiment.

"This demonstrates how when you start dehumanizing the other it can turn people into very hateful, ugly people," she said.

Trump has previously called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S[2].

Major Steven Thompson of the Rock Hill Police Department said beforehand that "anybody who made any kind of disturbance" should be escorted out.

Hamid – who was wearing a t-shirt that read 'Salam, I come in peace' – said she wanted to met Trump supports to dispel myths about what Muslims are like, reported The Daily Telegraph[3].

"I figured that most Trump supporters probably never met a Muslim so I figured that I'd give them the opportunity to meet one."

"People don't have a chance to see anything other than the Muslims they see on TV," Hamid added, saying images of Islamist militants were misleading about her faith.
